Club Information
Rock Bridge Lacrosse is a club sport serving 8th to 12th grade students in the Rock Bridge HS attendance area. The team fields boys varsity, junior varsity and developmental teams and competes against public and private schools throughout Missouri.
Rock Bridge Lacrosse is a member of and abides by the rules of the Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association (MSLA) and every player is required to join the U.S. Lacrosse Association.
The club provides a year-round program of Lacrosse activities. In addition to the traditional spring season the club sponsors a summer lacrosse league, participation in Show-Me games, fall and winter conditioning sessions and winter indoor lacrosse. Participation in off-season activities is voluntary but players not playing other sports are encouraged to participate.
Rock Bridge Lacrosse, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation organized under chapter 355 of the Missouri statutes. The corporation has received 501c(3) approval from the Internal Revenue Service and has a Missouri sales tax exemption.
Finances of the volunteer-run club are supported by its membership fees and fund raising. Volunteer efforts of parents and other supporters of the club are the key to the success of Rock Bridge Lacrosse. All families are required to participate on a club committee.
Fees
Team fees pay expenses such as coaches' salaries, game fields, tournament fees, referees, team supplies and equipment and travel expenses for some away games.
Team fees are $450 for new players and $650/year for returning players. New players must also buy their helmet from the team.
All players can offset all their team fees with the proceeds of butter braid and ad sales for the team program. All proceeds from butter braid and ad sales offset team fees and players are encouraged to earn at least $200 through fund raising.
Fees must be paid in full (by Feb. 1, 2010) before players can participate in spring practices. Payments can be made through out the year prior to Feb. 1. Please make checks out to Rock Bridge Lacrosse Club and send them to Al Thompson 4348 E. Ravens Ridge Drive, Columbia, MO 65201. Indicate your players name with the payment.
All players must also join US Lacross and provide proof of membership to the team (cost $35). Visit the US Lacrosse website for information on membership.
The Rock Bridge Lacrosse Club offers a limited number of scholarships to boys who will be attending Rock Bridge High School after 9th grade. These scholarships are based on athletic ability, family finances, grades, and attitude. No previous lacrosse experience is expected or required. Review the Lacrosse Scholarship document for details. If you have questions contact Robin Tillitt.
