Team Logistics
Lacrosse season typically runs from mid February to mid May. In 2010 players official season practice starts March 1st.
During the season, practices are held four to five weekdays per week starting at 3:35 PM and are done by 6:00PM. Players are expected to be at all practices. Regular season practices are held at RBHS SW practice fields Monday thru Friday.
Most games are on weekends but there are occasional weekday games.
All new players will practice with and play on the Developmental team.
Development team provides players instruction in all the basic elements of the game. The developmental team will participate in some "freshman festival" games in St. Louis and/or Kansas City. Interscholastic games will be scheduled as possible. These games are to provide all players a chance to learn about game situations and using their skills while playing as a team. Playing time is determined by attendance and effort in practice. All 9th graders and first-year 10th and 11th graders are eligible to play in the end-of-season freshman tournament. Players who excel on the developmental team may have the opportunity to play on the JV squad.
Junior Varsity Team is a competitive team with emphasis on developing individual and team skills. Playing time is determined by a combination of commitment and skill level. Players who excel on the JV squad may be asked to play as swing players for the varsity team.
Varsity Team is a competitive team and players are selected based on commitment and skill. A minimum of 15 players are "frozen" as varsity players and will not be eligible to play JV or developmental games (per MSLA rules).
